Drop Strategy (Basic)
You can’t win the game right at the start, but you certainly can LOSE it!
When exiting the Battle Bus at the start of a game, getting to your drop point first is critical. If you land without a weapon after someone else has landed in your drop point and they get a weapon before you, you are putting yourself in a difficult situation with low probability of survival. So, in addition to selecting your drop point strategically, timing of exiting the bus is also important, along with the path you take to get to your drop point. If you happen to land with or after an enemy and are competing for a chest or weapon, consider using Slide Kicking as an early game attack or defense.
The mechanics involved with how you transition from diving to gliding and the timing of that transition are also important. One way to move as fast as possible to your drop point is to dive (while controlling direction) as long as possible to reduce height before being forced to deploy your glider.
Typically the glider is forced to deploy around 100m above the ground below you, so selecting a canyon or lower point in the map to travel through can allow you to dive or free fall longer while others around (not above a low point) will have their gliders forced open sooner, allowing you to potentially get to ground quicker than your competitors.
